Payment, Cancellation, & Other Policies

For stays from May 1 through September 15, a valid credit card and a deposit equal to the first night's stay is due at the time of booking. Fifty percent deposit of total stay is required for stays of two or more nights. Ask about deposits and policies for other times of year. Balance is due at least 7 days prior to first night’s stay. Other arrangements may be required for large groups, weddings, and other special situations. Local taxes will be added to the room rates. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, travelers cheques, most personal checks, and cash.
If you must change your travel plans, notify us at least 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival date for a full refund of the deposit minus a $25.00 per room processing fee. From 30 to 15 days prior to your first night, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total booking applies. For cancellations within 14 days of your stay, the full booking and services fees are due and are non-refundable. Cancellations must be in writing. Early departures or no shows are charged the full amount of the original booking. Please do not ask us to make exceptions to our policies. If you would like a room key and it is not returned at checkout, there will be a $25.00/key charge. Do let us know prior to booking if you are from the New York area.
Because life can be unpredictable, we join others in strongly encouraging purchasing travel insurance from AIG Travel Guard, Access America, or another company of your choosing, to protect against unforeseen changes that may affect your trip, not just here, but for all your other lodgings, activities, and ticketings. Although rare, we may need to alter a single night room assignment after confirmation.
Please be aware that although we have a medium size dog at Halcyon Heights, we are unable to accommodate guests' pets.
You are welcome to cook your catch on our outdoor bar-b-que immediately after catching it, but we do not have facilities to store your fish without special advance arrangements. Please do not cook fish in your rooms. Smoking is not permitted anywhere. See our full smoking policy on our website for details. There may be significant extra charges for violations of this location's cooking or smoking policies. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Please see our policy regarding children, safety, & responsibility, also on our website. Appropriate behavior by both children and adults is important for the safety and comfort of everyone. Adults must be in full control of their children of all ages. Guests exhibiting inappropriate behavior may be asked to leave Halcyon Heights B&B/Inn without refund of any kind. Availability of facilities and services, including our outdoor hot tub, Internet, TV, trails, and others, cannot be guaranteed. Especially note that there are no refunds for such non-availabilities, including cancellations due to non-availability of these facilities and services, including the hot tub.
Our beautifully situated outdoor hot tub is normally available during summer months, but it cannot be guaranteed. It may be inaccessible or unavailable during other than summer seasons. We cannot forecast closures related to winter type weather or for other causes.
Check-out is at 11:00 AM. Check-in is from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM or by prior arrangement. Please call us prior to your trip if you have not spoken to us previously. And do call us when you're on the way to us so we won't worry about you and will know when to expect you!
