Spring begins with trees without leaves and brown all around...waiting.
Driving through Alaska during this time lets you see views, mountains and landscapes through the trees that will be hidden in just a few weeks as leaves quickly return. Be here for Homer's Shorebird Festival. Animals awaken. Moose find greenery they had missed during winter. Forget-me-nots (the Alaska state flower) bloom.
